Early Life

Moses was born in Egypt to Hebrew parents. His parents hid him from the Pharaoh, who had ordered all Hebrew male babies to be killed. Moses was eventually found by Pharaoh's daughter, who raised him as her own son.

Moses grew up in the palace, but he never forgot his Hebrew heritage. He often visited his people and saw how they were suffering under the Egyptians.

Calling from God

One day, Moses was tending his father-in-law's sheep when he saw a burning bush. The bush was not burning up, and Moses went closer to get a better look.

Suddenly, God spoke to Moses from the bush. God told Moses that he had chosen him to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt.

Moses was afraid, but he obeyed God's call. He went to Pharaoh and demanded that he let the Israelites go.

The Exodus

Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites go, so God sent ten plagues on Egypt. The plagues caused great suffering, and Pharaoh finally agreed to let the Israelites go.

Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt and across the Red Sea. The Egyptians pursued them, but God parted the waters of the sea and the Israelites escaped.

The Ten Commandments

After the Exodus, the Israelites camped at Mount Sinai. God spoke to Moses from the mountain and gave him the Ten Commandments.

The Ten Commandments are a set of moral laws that God gave to the Israelites. They are a guide for how to live a good and righteous life.

Later Life

Moses led the Israelites for forty years in the wilderness. He taught them God's law and he led them in worship.

Moses died at the age of 120. He never entered the Promised Land, but he saw it from afar.
