Early Life and Education

Tobias Vivian Siahaan was born in Medan, Indonesia, on September 12, 1973. He is the youngest of four children. His father, Kasimin Siahaan, was a government employee, and his mother, Lily Liem, was a homemaker.

Siahaan attended the Methodist School in Medan and was a top student throughout his academic career. He graduated from high school in 1991 and went on to study economics at the University of Indonesia in Jakarta.

In 1996, Siahaan graduated from the University of Indonesia with a bachelor's degree in economics. He then went on to earn an MBA from the University of Southern California in 1998.

Career

After graduating from USC, Siahaan worked as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in New York City. In 2000, he returned to Indonesia and founded Axton Capital.

Axton Capital is a private equity firm that invests in a variety of industries, including healthcare, education, and infrastructure. The firm has been involved in several high-profile deals, including the acquisition of PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) by Standard Chartered Bank in 2015.

Siahaan is also a philanthropist. He is the founder of the Vivian Foundation, which supports a variety of educational and social welfare programs in Indonesia. The foundation has provided scholarships to hundreds of students and helped to build schools and hospitals in underserved communities.

In addition to his business and philanthropic activities, Siahaan is also a passionate sports enthusiast. He is the president of Pelita Jaya Basketball Club, which has won several championships in the Indonesian Basketball League. Siahaan is also a member of the Indonesian Basketball Federation.
